My iPhone
Friday, August 31st, 2007As a reward for landing the position at Raymond, I bought myself an iPhone, last week. It is a fantastic phone, but it isn’t perfect. Currently, Apple is investigating why I am unable to update the phone from Apple’s web-site. The bluetooth doesn’t work with my existing bluetooth devices. There aren’t any usage profiles, to speed up things like ringer and call forwarding settings. There is no white list for callers. It doesn’t seem to like D-Link wireless routers.
I do love how it makes use of available WiFi networks for surfing the web and checking Email. The phone uses Mac OS X, and the design is very intuitive. The navigation system is well-worth the price of the phone. Synchronizing the iPhione with MS Outlook and iTunes is a simple matter of dropping the iPhone in the docking station.
