How Will Cloud Computing Change Businesses Today?
— I often talk about the transition from the Information Age to the Knowledge Age as both an expansion in the workforce that can create software solutions and as the decline of traditional point solution software companies. To the developer who is right now sitting behind a desk in a point solution software company, this can sound pretty scary. So let me take a moment in this article to expand upon a position to show that the great opportunities that are coming with this transition are for everyone, programmer and non-programmer included – as long as change in the environment is met with change in the individual.
Frankly, I think this is hilarious! I got a call from Phoenix, Arizona today about a work at home opportunity from an organization called Full-Speed Funding, who claims to offer small and mid-sized businesses cash advances, based on their credit/debit card receipts for the last three months. You earn a 2% commission on cash advances you refer to Full-Speed Funding. Also, you can earn residual income if your referral opts to lease Full-Speed Funding’s credit card machines.
All this can be yours for only $795, or $495, if you are reluctant.
Beware!
My Drobo has been moving data around for almost a full 24 hours, after hot-swapping in a 2 TB drive. The Drobo is useable, but the extra storage isn’t available while the data that was on the 1 TB drive that was hot-swapped out is restored. I am surprised that this “data protection” is taking so long.
The effect on system performance seems to be minimal. The extra drive space is not accessible during this process. Bummer.
First Week of Recovery

After being home from the hospital for 7 days, I hit a personal milestone in my recovery, yesterday, when I walked up to Genesee Street, which is roughly a mile from my house.
